Vegan Leather Care Guide

Cleaning a black Aurora vegan leather tote with a soft cloth

Your VeeVee bag is made from cruelty-free vegan leather. With a little care, it will keep its look for years.

1. Everyday Cleaning

  • Before using any cleaning method for the first time, test it on a small, hidden spot.
  • Add a drop of mild, unscented dish soap to lukewarm water.
  • Dampen a soft, lint-free cloth and wring it out well.
  • Wipe gently in small circular motions.
  • Dry right away with a clean, dry cloth.
  • Don't scrub. Scrubbing can wear down the finish.

2. Water & Moisture

  • Vegan leather resists light moisture, but never soak or submerge your bag.
  • If it gets wet, blot it dry instead of rubbing, then let it air dry naturally.
  • Avoid long periods in damp or humid places.

3. Heat & Sunlight

  • Keep your bag away from direct sun and heat sources such as car dashboards, radiators, and hair dryers.
  • Heat can cause fading, cracking, or warping.
  • Store it somewhere cool and shaded.

4. Storage

  • Store your bag in a breathable cotton pillowcase or cloth bag.
  • Stuff it lightly with tissue paper so it holds its shape.
  • Don't stack heavy items on top of it.
  • Avoid plastic bags. Give your bag room to breathe. It needs airflow to stay fresh and mildew-free.

5. Hardware

  • Wipe zippers, clasps, and chains with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Keep metal polish away from the bag body.

6. Spills & Stains

  • Act fast. Blot spills right away with a clean, dry cloth.
  • For oil or grease, wipe gently with the mild soap solution from Step 1, then dry.
  • For ink or dye stains, contact us before trying to remove them.

7. What to Avoid

  • ❌ Alcohol-based cleaners, solvents, or bleach
  • ❌ Baby wipes or magic erasers
  • ❌ Leather conditioners or oils, which are made for real leather and can leave vegan leather sticky or discolored
  • ❌ Perfume, hairspray, and lotions on the bag or hardware
  • ❌ Dark denim rubbing against light-colored bags, which can transfer color
  • ❌ Harsh brushes or abrasive cloths
  • ❌ Washing machines, dryers, ironing, or steaming
  • ❌ Overfilling, which stretches the bag out of shape over time
